Down Syndrome Awareness Month

October is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month. Many of you have heard me talk about my friend Adrienne and most of you follow her blog. But for those of you that do not, Adrienne is a true inspiration! Her son, Bennett, is the cutest, most adorable little thing you have ever seen! I could just eat him up...and those cheeks...oh my goodness...CUTE! Adrienne found out last year, in December, that Bennett had Down Syndrome and a heart defect. At about 16 weeks pregnant, she heard words that no pregnant woman wants to hear. Bennett was born May 22, 2009, had open heart surgery in August, and is doing great. Her story is heart-warming and inspirational. She is a role model for mothers, an advocate for children with special needs, and truly a strong and loving individual.
