Mother's Day Tea

Today we had the Mother's Day Tea at Drew's preschool and it was lovely! We went into Drew's classroom first and he showed me all of his artwork and gave me a beautiful bracelet that he had made. The children had each answered questions about their Mommy and it was so cute to read their answers! According to Drew: my favorite food is squash, my job is to give people medicine, he loves me because I sing songs to him!

I told all of my children that nothing in this world makes me any happier than being a Mommy (even though the girls didn't quite understand...as long as they know their Mom loves them)! Mother's Day is a wonderful celebration of the joy they bring me each and every day of my life!
The preschool made it a very special morning for us!

Love to all!

My Little Boy is FIVE!

I can NOT believe that I did not post on Drew's fifth birthday :( Bad, bad Mommy :( But here are all the little details! Drew's birthday was on a Wednesday and we had his party (or should I say parties) the Saturday before. He wanted his birthday at Young's Gymnastics and it happened to be scheduled the same day as Katie Grace's (a little girl in his preschool) party at the same place!!! So we decided to combine the parties and have a double birthday for the two of them! It was so much fun and both Drew and Katie Grace were very "into" sharing their birthday with the other. The morning started off hectic because we had tons of running around to do, a soccer game at 9 and the party at 11. Craziness! But Drew was so very excited!

Swinging on the rope!

Getting ready for the highlight of the party! The Peter Pan high flying swing!
So excited...

and then...not so sure...

getting all suited up...
ready to fly high...
Finally in the air!!! All smiles!
We made individual dirt cakes in flower pots and gave garden shovels and seeds as party favors! Of course Drew and Katie Grace needed a cake with candles to blow out, so I made two vanilla cakes to put candles in. Drew thought that this meant it was ALL his and just started eating it right off of the serving plate with a fork!

Make a wish!

The girls enjoyed their big brothers party too!

We also had our neighborhood buddies over Saturday night! Such a fun, fun time! Kevin was in charge of the camera so I don't have any really good pictures :( Will try to find some and post later!
On Drew's birthday (which was the next Wednesday) I made brownies for his class as a special treat and was the mystery reader at preschool, so got to go into his class and read to them. I picked him up and we went to Toys R Us and picked out a toy. Then we met Daddy and went to the movies, while Nanny and Poppy kept the girls! Drew was SOOOOO excited to go to the movies and LOVED it! He kept asking if it was 4 o'clock yet? and when are we going to be there? I had him reciting directions back to me so that he would know EXACTLY when we were going to be there! Too, too, funny!
I really can't believe that he is FIVE!!! I love that little man more that he could ever know! Happy Birthday Drew!

Easter

So I know this post is a little late, but better late than never right! Here are a few pictures from Easter. We had an egg hunt at our church on Saturday and then spent the rest of the weekend with family in Clarksville. The Easter bunny visited at Nanny and Poppy's house and Gama and Jimbo's house! Some very lucky little ones I might say!

At Nanny's after the egg hunt.

We went to church in Clarksville Easter Sunday and then spent the rest of the afternoon with my Dad's family at Tricia's house. Here are the kids after church in Clarksville

Still Obsessed with Sewing!

So I am still obsessed with sewing and am convinced that I can sew the girls ENTIRE summer wardrobe....right, right ;0)
Here are a few of the outfits that I have made.

Dress for Ellie (Emmy has a matching outfit, but it isn't complete. And Drew is going to have some matching shorts...just have to figure those out :)

I litterally thought the double sided ruffle on this dress was going to be the DEATH of me...took forever, but I LOVE it and think if just makes the dress.

Coordinating apron dress for Emmy!

Ellie showing off her shirt
Still have to sew on the button.
Matching beach outfits for this girls!!!

Anxiously awaiting warm weather so that they can wear all of their clothes!!!
I am getting ready to start with some stuff for Drew...I think it is going to be a lot harder. Zippers and tailored waistlines make me a little nervous!
Love to all!

Officially a Soccer Mom

Have wanted to be a soccer mom for as long as I can remember.

Well now I am!!! Here is my little buddy all ready for his very first game.

He is on the Eagles team and absolutely LOVES playing! I can just feel his excitement!

Drew had is first practice on Thursday and the entire way home he gave me a recap of everything that happened. Since it was so cold and windy outside the day they practiced, the girls and I sat in the car (along with all of the other parents) pulled right up to the field where they practiced. I was able to see everything, but Drew wanted to make sure that I had seen everything and told me about his goal that he scored and the goal that he blocked.

Today he had his first game and was VERY excited. He loved it. Kevin and I had a very hard time refraining from explaining things to him while he was on the field playing, but we managed. Kevin says tomorrow's practice (Dad and Drew practice) will be along the lines of 5 hours.
And so it begins :) My little man is growing up! So proud of him playing his very first game!

Have a great weekend!

Love to all!

Has it been 9 months?

Yes! It really has! Emmy is changing so much everyday and has developed the cutest little personality. She is very observant of her older brother and sister and easily entertained by their ability to jump from the couch to the ottoman to the floor, all with a cracker in their hand! Yes, it is quite a household we run here! It's wild! And I love it :)

So I don't know what Emmy weighs, but she is an excellant eater and gives me a great arm workout on a daily basis. She is crawling all over the place and into EVERYTHING!!! She especially loves to get a magazine and try out the flavors of each page. She is at that age where she puts everything in her mouth.

We tried for the longest time to get her to eat baby food and she was just completely uninterested in it. Don't get me wrong, she liked to "eat" but didn't like the taste or consistency or something about the baby food. So I started giving her table food and the child is in Heaven! She LOVES it! With only two teeth, she can chew up crackers, bananas, noodles, chicken, peas, cheese, Cheerios, and lots of other table foods. I don't remember when I gave the other two table foods, but i am pretty sure its wasn't this early.

She is actually getting very good at feeding herself. Her pincer grasp has developed much more quickly than the other two. I guess she figured she would rather feed herself than wait on Mama.

And after she eats....Oh so happy!

And these two little rascals have become quite sneaky little friends. Drew instigates, Ellie listens, they both get in trouble for doing something they should not have done. I love listening to them when they don't know that I am...their "conversations" are priceless.

So not too, too much going on lately. We went to Kentucky to visit our friend Ryan and Andrea and their little girl Stella last week. It was such a fun trip and the children actually did really well in the car. We only watched about 12 movies each way :) thank goodness for DVD players in the car.

Drew is excited to start playing sports this Spring. Ellie is trying to figure out the whole "potty" thing. Emmy is begining to "furniture walk." Kevin has started going to the gym regularly and has become quite a "stud." And I am still obsessed with sewing the girls cute, one of a kind outfits. In fact, last night Kevin was flipping through the channels on the TV and stopped on some new channel and I asked him "What are you watching?" "CSPAN," he replies. "What are you 80," I ask. He responds, "Is that coming from the old woman in there SEWING!"

Yes, our life has come to this! CSPAN and sewing. Sigh.

Love to all!
